At a time when the rise of anti-Semitism in the UK is worrying, Prince William has sent out a clear signal with his visit to the Western Marble Arch Synagogue. The Prince met with Holocaust survivors Manfred Goldberg and Renee Salt as well as with young people who took part in the Holocaust Educational Trust’s “Lessons from Auschwitz” project.

This project is designed to educate young people from the UK about the history of the Holocaust by taking them to the sites of the former Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, where more than a million Jews were murdered by the Nazis.
The Prince also met Rabbi Daniel Epstein, who has led the Marble Arch Synagogue since 2021, and received a bouquet of flowers for his wife Kate. The Duchess will certainly have been pleased, as she would have loved to have accompanied her husband.
